On Sunday August 17 at promptly ten-o’clock in the morning, Live.Love.Pet! officially opened for the very first time. You may have even received an invitation to the event that looked like this:
Along with all the delicious PuPus and drinks that we served to our human guests - and all the vitamin infused water for the pets our guests brought along - we had a great time and truly enjoyed everyone showing up.
But to make the event even more fun-filled, everyone who attended was invited to enter our raffle where they had a chance to win one of three fun prizes.
1st - The very lucky first place winner was told that they would receive $100 off grooming services or retail products in the boutique.
2nd - Our lucky second place winner was told that he or she would receive $50 off grooming or retail.
3rd – And our lucky third place winner would receive a free enhancement at their pet’s next grooming appointment.
We also offered $10 off to anyone who scheduled a pre-groom appointment while they were hanging out, viewing the new salon and having fun with their furry best friends.
But let’s be honest. You want to find out who won the raffle. More importantly, you probably want to find out if YOU and your pet won. So let’s get right to it.
The Live.Love.Pet! Open House Raffle Winners

You may think you're saving money by clipping your pet's nails yourself, but you could seriously harm your pet. And no one wants that, especially your pet!
When your pet's nails get a little too long, it can be tempting to want to trim them yourself. But pet owner beware! If you trim your pet's nails too short or you perform the procedure incorrectly, you could cause your pet immense amounts of pain.
You know how much it hurts when you accidentally clip your skin when clipping your fingernails or toenails? Yeah, it's like that for your dog, but three times worse.
That's what we don't want!
To make sure your pet gets through the nail trimming procedure harm and pain-free, you should make an appointment with a professional pet groomer. Here are five more good reasons why.
1. Your Pet Could Associate Nail Trimming with a Negative Experience
A pet groomer is trained and certified to keep your dog calm during the grooming procedure, and during all other services, such as dog nail trimming. If you don't know what you're doing and you end up harming your dog, your dog could make the connection that nail trimming by its owner = very, very bad. When that happens, good luck getting those trimmers next to your dog's paws the next time you feel the nails need shortening.
2. You Might Get Bit
Not only will a professional pet groomer keep your pet calm, but they'll also have the proper equipment, such as humane dog muzzles, in order to keep from getting bit. Being bitten by your best friend is no fun, but of course we can't blame your dog for wanting to bite. Your pet has an instinct to protect the nails, which are their only tools besides their teeth that they can use for digging and defense. Even if your dog doesn't need a defense mechanism living in your home, your dog will still do whatever he or she can to keep the nails intact.
A groomer will know how to relax your dog so that the only biting that takes place is after the grooming session when your dog gets a tasty treat.
3. You Might Not Have the Best and Most Current Equipment
Dog's nails are very thick and only the sharpest and safest equipment should be used. If you're trying to use scissors, hedge trimmers or whatever else you have laying around in the junk drawer or in the garage, you might want to think twice before calling your dog over and starting the pet nail trimming procedure.
A professional groomer will have tools that are sharp enough and safe enough to keep your dog's nails trimmed and looking great.
4. You Might Get Nervous - Leading to Mistakes
You may think that you have a handle on the nail trimming procedure, but what if your dog jerks in your arms, or what if your hands begin to shake because you're fearful of doing a bad job? Don't let a silly mistake harm your dog. A professional groomer has been trained and certified to perform the dog nail trimming procedure, and they can probably do it faster than you can, too!
5. You Could Cause Serious Bleeding or Worse
Dog's nails have a quick, which is the inner fleshy part of the nail, and it's incredibly sensitive. Clipping the quick is just like clipping the end of your finger. This could cause bleeding that isn't easy to stop. If your dog is older, this could end up being fatal. Of course, we're not trying to scare you. We're merely trying to stress to you that a professional groomer will ensure that your pet always looks, feels and smells his or her best while keeping safety as a first priority.
